DEMOLITION OF OLD PERKO’S RESTAURANT IN SAFEWAY SHOPPING CENTER:
Perko’s Cafe at 829 Eleventh St is coming down starting February 26, 2025 and into next week! Temporary fencing is up, so please stay cautious and give the construction team space to work safely.
As of now, the future of the site remains unknown—stay tuned for updates!
PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE:
10th St. Pedestrian Improvements – Safer Sidewalks & ADA Upgrades Ahead!
Location: Tenth St. (West of Tunis) & the corner of Tenth and North St.
Status: Design phase complete by March 14. Bidding will take place by March 27, with construction set to begin April 14 and projected finish by April 30 (pending weather).
What’s happening? The City of Lakeport is making key pedestrian improvements, including:
Filling in the missing sidewalk gap on Tenth St. (West of Tunis) to enhance safety and accessibility.
Adding a new ADA-compliant corner at Tenth and North St. to improve mobility for all residents.
What to expect:
Some lane reductions may be necessary during construction.

2024 Pipeline Project – Upgrading Lakeport’s Water System!
Location: Martin St. between Forbes and Bevins
Status: Ongoing, with an estimated completion in late April (pending weather conditions)
What’s happening? The City of Lakeport is replacing an aging water main and service lines along Martin Street. This project is essential to ensuring reliable water service, reducing the risk of leaks, and modernizing our water infrastructure for long-term sustainability.
What to expect:
Road closures and lane reductions – Please be cautious when driving through the area and follow posted detours.
Noise and dust – Construction can be disruptive, but we’re working as efficiently as possible.
Project Update: This waterline project is on target and progressing as planned. Our team is working hard to complete this upgrade while minimizing disruptions.

FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
The Board of Supervisors has extended the application period to fill one vacancy on the LAKEPORT FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
Interested applicants must reside within the Lakeport Fire Protection District’s boundary and be registered to vote in Lake County. Selected candidates will be interviewed by the Lakeport
Fire Protection District Board of Directors at a Special Meeting on March 25, 2025, prior to moving to the Lake County Board of Supervisors for final review and consideration.
Applications are available at the Lake County Courthouse, Clerk of the Board Office, Room 109, 255 North Forbes Street, Lakeport, California, or online at www.lakecountyca.gov on
the Board of Supervisors page.
The deadline for submission will be Thursday, March 20,
2025 at 12:00 p.m.
